ICA Foodshelf Business Spotlight

Last April, Marks Group Wealth Management, a Minnetonka-based investment management firm, hosted an open house to celebrate their recent office expansion. In addition to introducing their new space, mingling over refreshments, and thanking clients, Marks Group used the event to raise awareness of and funds for ICA Food Shelf.

ICA Food Shelf’s executive director Peg Keenan and several board members were on hand to talk about the work of ICA and to answer questions about its services. Marks Group also invited their clients to support ICA financially, and even matched their guests’ gifts, up to $10,000. All told, the event raised more than $21,000 for ICA.

Marks Group has supported ICA Food Shelf for several years, first getting involved through the Empty Bowls Event held at the Hopkins Center for the Arts every March. The impact and success of ICA’s mission on the local community was clear, so when Marks Group was looking for a nonprofit with which to partner, ICA stood out as a natural fit.

Managing Principal John Feste, who has lived and worked in this community his entire life, knows how powerful partnerships between local businesses and nonprofits can be. And helping people in need is a natural fit for Marks Group. “The perception of the Western suburbs is that we’re well-to-do and that there isn’t a need for the services that ICA provides. That’s simply not true: there is significant need within our local community. These people are our friends and neighbors.”

ICA Food Shelf is so grateful for the support of Marks Group and the impact it has made on our community. Thank you!
